Rattlers who can’t get enough FAMU news now have another option for up-to-the-minute information: President James Ammons’ Twitter page.Twitter is a free service that lets users keep in touch with friends, family, and colleagues through the exchange of frequent answers to one simple question: “What are you doing?”
Ammons began “twittering” in conjunction with the university’s recent “Up Close and Personal” recruitment tour across Florida. During the trip, FAMU awarded $554,000 in scholarships to prospective students.
Since then, the president’s Twitter page has featured updates about his speeches, appearances at Board of Governors meetings, and upcoming campus events.
Kishia Ward, a master’s of business administration student in FAMU’s School of Business and Industry, was the first to welcome Ammons to the website.
She sent a message applauding his work and dubbing him: “The best president to date.”

I would like to congratulate President Ammons for his $100,000 raise. He is a true CEO. Maybe we could find an investment bank or an auto company he could operate. He could make some real money then.
Not sure if the above is true, but we gave Castell an $85,000 bonus and what did that buy us?
Dr. Ammons deserves every penny he makes, and then some. I'd hate to think where FAMU would be if he wasn't our President. Keep up the good work Dr. Ammons & Team.
9:40, the president is already operating an "investment bank." It's called: Florida A&M University. He's "investing" in the future of its students, and by doing so he's banking that they will become successful and productive citizens who will be able to contribute to society.
When did Dr. Ammons get the raise? And is it really $100,000?
Dr Ammons is a joke. Look what he did to NCCU. Thats why he bailed out.
