FAMU kicker Chase Varnadore was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Special Teams Player of the Week for Saturday, Oct. 4, after kicking three field goals, including a school-record 53 yarder against Morgan State.

The 5-11, 170-pound senior from Tallahassee's Florida High, was three-for-three on field goal tries, making good on kicks of 47, 25 and 53 yards, the last kick surpassing the nearly 40-year old mark of former NFL punter Greg Coleman, who booted a 52-yard fielder against Kentucky State for FAMU in 1975.

Varandore is a two-time All-MEAC selection and was a 2012 All-American.
