Rattlers expected to finish 2nd in MEAC southern division

The defending MEAC Softball Champion Lady Rattler softball quad will begin the season ranked second in the conferences preseason polls behind in-state rival Bethune-Cookman.  The Lady Rattlers  received 130 points to the Lady Wildcats 132 total points.  The defending champs received 11 first place votes to Cookman's 10.

The Hampton Lady Pirates are expected to win the MEAC northern division, according to the poll of MEAC coaches and sports information directors.

FAMU sophomore Amber Fullwood made the preseason all-conference first team. Sophomores Kenya Pereira, Whitney Farris, and Tashayla Irvis were all selected for the second team.
