Dennis Pugh set a new school record for FAMU during the 400 meter hurdles race at the Pepsi Florida Relays at the University of Florida track complex on Saturday. He finished the event with a time of 50.97.

The performance made him the #1 fastest 400 meter hurdle athlete in this year’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rankings and 13th, overall, in the NCAA Division One National rankings.

Pugh also ran a 14.75 in the 110 hurdles and was a member of the FAMU 4x400 relay team which finished fifth (3:09.92) and on the 4x100 team which finished 16th (40.88).

“Pugh as well as the rest of the team has responded fantastic to our training and coaches! We are very excited as we continue to prepare for the outdoor MEAC conference championship and NCAA Regionals later this year,” Head Coach Marc Small said.
