Yesterday, the Nomination and Governance Committee of the Florida Board of Governors (BOG) recommended candidates for two of the three the vacant BOG-appointed seats on the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees.

One is Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of TWD, Inc. He holds a B.A. in sociology and pre-professional social work from Fort Valley State University (1972) an M.A. in criminal justice administration from Clark-Atlanta University (1986).

The second is Craig Reed, vice president for sourcing and logistics at DuPont USA. He earned a B.S. in economics from Florida A&M University (1994) and an MBA degree, with a supply chain management concentration, from Arizona State University (2001).

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, “they will replace Karl White, who has served two terms and Dr. Spurgeon McWilliams, a retired Tallahassee physician who resigned last fall…The governors took no action on current chairman Cleve Warren, who remains on the board.”
