FAMU opens MEAC tourney with a 10-2 win over NCCU

Florida A&M (31-19, 19-5 MEAC) used a six-run third inning and a strong day from both Dylan Dillard and Ricky Page to defeat North Carolina Central (25-29, 11-13 MEAC) by a score of 10-2 in the Rattlers opening game at the MEAC Baseball Tournament.

Dillard belted his seventh home run of the season in the sixth inning, a 432-foot shot to center field, and had a season high five RBI, while going 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the win. Page (6-3) had a strong outing as well on the mound as he earned his sixth win of the season. He pitched seven strong innings allowing just one unearned run on eight hits with four strikeouts, one walk.

FAMU sent all nine batters to the plate in the third inning and scored six runs on five hits to take a commanding 6-0 lead.
