FAMU trustees elect Lawson to chairmanship

Today, the FAMU Board of Trustees (BOT) elected Kelvin Lawson to the chairmanship. Lawson, as vice-chairman, had been serving as the acting chair since the Florida Board of Governors denied reappointment to former Chairman Cleve Warren on May 12th. He will serve out the remainder of the former chairman’s term, which ends in 2017.

Lawson is an alumnus of the FAMU School of Business and Industry. He is currently the national client service director for Acosta Sales and Marketing.

He was nominated for the position by Trustee Robert Woody. The vote was unanimous.
