In its annual ranking of top degree producers
Diverse: Issues in Higher Education has again ranked Florida A&M University as the No. 1 historically black college or university for awarding bachelor degrees to African-Americans. The university finished No. 4 overall behind Alford University (CA), University of Phoenix (two large online universities), and Georgia State University.
FAMU also finished in the No. 2 spot in the spot among all colleges and universities for graduating the most African American students with professional doctoral degrees. FAMU was No. 19 overall for granting professional doctoral degrees to minority students in the United States.
