The Rattlers took their first loss of the season on the road Thursday against the University of Arkansas in War Memorial Stadium. The Razorbacks (1-0) rolled to victory, 49-7.

Florida A&M (1-1) put six on the board in the fourth quarter when Vince Jeffries connected with Brandon Norwood for a seven yard pass. A kick by Yahia Aly added the extra point.

FAMU Head Coach Alex Wood, a former Razorbacks assistant coach, said his squad put up a tough fight against its Southeastern Conference opponent.

“Obviously we are disappointed,” Wood said in an interview published by Whole Hog Sports. “This is not the outcome that we traveled here for, obviously. But I thought our kids played hard. We didn’t generate enough offense to make this more competitive.”
