The Florida Board of Governors (BOG), this afternoon, voted unanimously to provide FAMU with a waiver to forego a national presidential search. The action clears the way for the FAMU Board of Trustees (BOT) to appoint Interim President Larry Robinson to the permanent presidency at its next meeting.

On August 18, 2017, the Board of Trustees of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University voted unanimously to request such a waiver from the BOG. The BOT explained that it wanted the flexibility to either conduct a national search or, alternatively, select Robinson as the 12th president of the university.

A copy of FAMU's request to the BOG is here.
