Devin Harrison, who became the new student body president of Florida A&M University yesterday following Justin Bruno’s resignation from the office, thanked his predecessor.

“As a brother, I’ve encouraged him to do what’s best for him and he did just that,” Harrison said in a quote published by The FAMUan.

Harrison, who was in his second year as vice-president under Bruno, also called for unity within the Student Government Association (SGA).

“Everything is moving forward in one task, I don’t think our administration has missed a beat,” he told The FAMUan. ‘It doesn’t stop what we’re doing as a unit, hopefully this will bring SGA together even more, I’m excited for that.”

Harrison is from Tallahassee and studies public relations. He previously served as the freshman class president, a FAMU peer mentor, and an escort for the Royal Court. He’s also a member of the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
