The past few months have been a whirlwind for many as we adapt to our new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic. Adapting to change is difficult. Adapting to change during a crisis is even more challenging. Farmers and our agriculture community are not exempt from these changes.

To help Florida’s agriculture community cope, the FAMU Cooperative Extension held a webinar this past Saturday, which has been posted online, to provide farmers with strategies to adjust and grow their agriculture businesses during COVID.

Featured speakers included Scheril Powell, Esq., Executive Director, Black Farmers and Agriculturalist of Florida, Ann Marie Sorrell, MBA, President & CEO, The Mosaic Group, and Alejandro Bolques, Ph.D., Extension Crop Specialist/Assistant Dir. of FAMU Gadsden County Farm.

The presentation discusses new crops, available government assistance, and ways that FAMU could help them. It is closed captioned for the hearing impaired.
