We see that excellence demonstrated in so many concrete ways from the way the FAMU faculty responded to an immediate turn around and switched to fully remote teaching when COVID-19 first struck. We see it in the students who have been resilient in spite of all the challenges that have been thrown at them during this pandemic.
So just as we have had “Black Friday”, “Cyber Monday”, today is “Giving Tuesday!”
FAMU relies on the generosity of alumni and friends to support its innovative teaching, research, and scholarships.
Giving Tuesday is a global day to promote philanthropy, citizen engagement, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. It’s a day where all Rattlers and friends can come together and show our collective support for FAMU, it’s students and important campus initiatives.
It’s a chance to celebrate the opportunities that make FAMU so extraordinary, such as life-changing scholarships and provide the resources to recruit, enroll and retain the high-performing students who will tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges.
Financial aid has long been one of the biggest and most critical priorities for FAMU students. The dollars raised today help meet the needs of countless students who otherwise would not be able to attend FAMU.
This year, that need is even more pronounced. The coronavirus pandemic has had a dramatic economic effect on many FAMU students and their families.
Many FAMU students, and potential students, have had financial hardships that they couldn’t have anticipated even a year ago. They’re finding themselves in situations where there’s been a job change, job loss or a reduction in pay.
Your gift will support scholarships and financial aid—student success and retention initiatives—and the ability of FAMU to enroll the highest-performing students from high schools and community colleges across the country.
