Be Out Day Atlanta raises more than $55,000 for scholarships

Melissa St. Joyprincipal of the Emma Hutchinson Elementary in Atlanta, GA, one of the organizers of Be Out Day Atlanta, and the friends of FAMU,  brought a little bit of “the Hill” to the “the A”, yesterday, with a FAMUly fun day and picnic in Atlanta's Central Park.

The group also raised $55,792 in scholarship money for Atlanta area students to attend FAMU.  The Deltas lead the in the giving donating $14, 031, they were followed by the Kappa Alpha Psi Alums who gave $5,946, with the Ques coming in a distant third place.

Attendees enjoyed field-day games, basketball, kickball tournaments, kids zone, food trucks, and a live DJ spinning all of the hits and FAMU classics!
