We would keep running around telling each other "here's a little Tannic for your lips". "Tanic....for your lips?"

Nothing like playing that medley music.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20603672.post-92113590288656176152010-02-18T10:14:56.566-05:002010-02-18T10:14:56.566-05:00Hey DanD! The conductor was Paul LaValle who had been the conductor of Radio City Music Hall. The rehearsal conductor was from Purdue University. The experience helped my with many decisions that came down the line as I progressed from teen to adult over the next few years to follow.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20603672.post-72094015894114859852009-10-08T17:05:09.569-04:002009-10-08T17:05:09.569-04:00Dr. Foster was great, but he was a character. I also remember him encouraging people to apply tannic acid to their mouths to mask the pain that comes from playing all day.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04589847908235010251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20603672.post-55524622589922300972009-09-30T18:58:28.479-04:002009-09-30T18:58:28.479-04:00I was a member of the band 77-78 and it was one of...I was a member of the band 77-78 and it was one of the great experiences of my life. I had the privilege of being there under Dr. Foster; he sure worked us hard but it was the best sounding high school band I have ever heard; and, with only a week's worth of preparation.

ThomasAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20603672.post-67752424110372421062009-07-07T15:49:00.978-04:002009-07-07T15:49:00.978-04:00I was a member in 1979. I've been trying to find any kind of footage of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, they zoomed in on me playing and would love to have a copy to show kids & grandkids. If anyone would know where to find something like that email me at jimmydmusic@live.com
Thanks,
jimmy

ps....it was a pretty cool time in my lifejimmydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08135979482753955878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20603672.post-86974949982905181802009-01-13T21:40:00.000-05:002009-01-13T21:40:00.000-05:00I was in the McDonald's band in 1981-82.
