Of course Champion consented to the hazing having full knowledge of what they would do to him. He just didn't think he would get really hurt from it.

If he didn't consent and was taken and beaten to death against his will, the hazers would have been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, 1st degree and 2nd degree murder. #comeonson

Ammons needs to audit the band member by member, create a task force to work on reform, and reinstating the band...this should consist of former and current suspended band members, a few regular student body members, two professors from the dept of music, a board of trustee member, and the SGA vice president. I really hope Dr. Ammons is reading these threads because I know he's very informative and for the better of FAMU...I think with this task force needs to create two new hazing policies, one for clubs and organization and the second consisting of the student body as a whole...I would also have the IT department spearhead a new system for the verification of student enrollment(this will eliminate document falsification) that directors, department heads, deans, and professors can access eighter on their laptops, or even on a mobile smartphone. Also I would eliminate, or only allow a certain. Number of FSU or TCC students as part of the Marchin 100, but the requirements would be to enroll in a co-enrollment program with FAMU where they must enroll in atleast one music class at FAMU, or develope an agreement with TCC that guarantees admission to FAMU for students who are entering into a music major . This way we as FAMU gets our money worth for these students that have nothing at all connected to our institution other than wanting totha join. Dr. Ammons I love this university as much as you do and I hope that with everything, and all suggestions that are brought forth i really appreciate and prey for FAMU everyday.

Time to restructure...create FAMU school of Music, dean no longer director of marchin 100, suspended kkp members not allowed back on...new check and balance system to verify enrollment get IT dept to spearhead thiis...I always felt like being in the 100rd should be a privilage that's why I was befuddle with TCC and FSU students joining its kind of like a slap in FAMU's face...and the alternative entertainment this year will be FAMU DRS Band if y'all haven't been notified yet which I'm not mad at its still FAMU..

Let's be real money talks and you know what walks..at FAMU the 100'rd became a total business entity. In my opinion, agree or not too many eyes, ears and hands touched this band. There were too many chefs in the kitchen..I feel like everybody in administraition is guilty. They knowingly let the 100'rd destroy itself. I don't think the band when it does come back will ever be the same again

This is my problem, and is also a big "I TOLD YOU SO," back round 2005-06 when Castell was president there was a big hoopla when she barred TCC and FSU students and outside sources from joining the 100'rd because of instances like this. Unfortunately, there was such an outcry when clearly its purpose was to save us from embarassing incidents like this...

Why do people have to make assumptions about something they know nothing about. Anyone who knew Robert knew he was not a hazer! The media is trying to tarnished his name in order to take attention off what really happened! He did something he shouldn't have and the people involved went too far for whatever reason. Whether they thought he was strong enough to handle it or whatever! They killed him!
People drink and drive all the time, knowing its against the law. If they kill someone while driving under the influence, they pay the consequences point blank. Whether they have prior convictions or not!

I agree fall 04. im a member of rdo and was roberts line brother....known him since we were at rival high schools, me in 10th grade and he in the 11th. We have had drum majors not do the bus before so I really dont know why he went thru with it. Regardless of why he decided to get on that bus, it was his own choice, not forced by anyone. Though im sad to have my brother gone, he put himself in the situation and it was a terrible tragedy that I wish he would've thought more about. As far as this Bria chick is concerned.....i knew since the first report she was lying. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that a ruler isnt strong enough to break a femur!!! Because of that one lie, her whole case is going to be looked at falsely and hopefully thrown out.

Robert wasn't there when Bria was hazed. Robert was Red Dog but he wasn't hazed for it b/c Red Dog is a support group for members of the band who are from Atlanta. Hazing isn't a norm for the group. Robert walked onto Bus C b/c he was pressured to do so and he just wanted more respect in the band. There's nothing worse than being appointed a leader and a bunch of thug nobodys (percussion section) taunt you, disrespect you, and call you gay when you try to assert the authority given to you. Robert only got on that bus b/c he thought it would earn him some respect from a bunch of low-lifes.
