Nothing threatens oppressive regimes more than prophets. Prophets disrupt the status quo by speaking truth to power and creating innovative methods to challenge unjust appropriations of authority.

By exposing the vulnerability of rulers who at first seemed invincible, prophets become symbols of hope within afflicted communities and catalysts for full-scale uprisings.

For more than a year, Florida A&M University's prophetic voice has been the anonymous writer “Ben Davis,” editor of the Rattler Nation blog.

Launched Jan. 5, 2006, Davis' blog helped escalate Interim President Castell V. Bryant's recurring problems from a nuisance to a full-blown crisis.

  2. This site has done some good and some bad. The good is that a number of issues were brought to light that otherwise would have remained hidden. The bad is that some folks used this as their personal sounding board to attack many good people personally and in a cowardly, "anonymous" way.
