Hornets sack Rattlers in home opener!

FAMU lost to visiting Delaware State 20-7 Saturday evening in front of 14,327 at Bragg Memorial Stadium. It's the third time in three seasons that FAMU coach Rubin Carter had to watch his team start the season 0-2 and it's the third consecutive loss against the Hornets.
Like he's done the previous two seasons, Carter must find a way to pick his team up to avoid going 0-3 for the first time as FAMU's head coach
I hope these guys get it together. There is some talent on this roster.
ReplyDeleteSouthern & Del. State clearly exposed Coach Carters lack of coaching ability. It about time for his on the job training to be over!

ReplyDeleteI did not attend FAMU, but this is my 10th year teaching here, so I am a Rattler. I attended the President's Convocation on Friday where they introduce the football. During the convocation, the team members were sleeping, disinterested, showed no FAMU spirit and were lounging on the bleachers, #48 was sleeping, while everyone else was standing, fired up and doing the Rattler Strike. Did they think this was all for them???
ReplyDeleteCoach Carter had the team to stand up and lead them in a chant, "When I say Rattler you say STRIKE! Rattler. STRIKE! Rattler. STRIKE!" The team was so weak in their attempt, I told other people I knew about the lack of heart and predicted they'd lose.
They have no Rattler spirit and appear undisciplined. Even when the Coach was speaking, they were lounging instead of sitting up at attention. I was so appalled. I don't even think the whole team was there. WEAK!!!!
Time to Bring back billy Joe and a new AD.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Let's bring back Coach Billy Joe. I did not attend the game, but I understand from a lot of folks I talked to about the game that the talent is there. It's the coaching that's perhaps lacking. I'm all for BJ to come back, because he never should have been fired in the first place, but we all knoiw that this was a CVB-led firing.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to post that the 100 performed yesterday in Charleston, SC at the Palmetto Band Invitational. To say that I felt like I was back in Bragg Stadium would be an understatement. The 100 was awesome, and everyone around me clearly had the same opinion!!! SC State, BCC, and Benedict performed, but the 100 shut it down!

ReplyDeleteI was not able to attend the convocation but I did notice EXACTLY what you describe in the convocation photos. The team may have been tired from practice or not eaten yet, BUT THAT IS INSIGNIFICANT WHEN IT COMES TO RATTLER PRIDE. Someone had better WAKE THEM UP before they SLEEP, or as you say, LOUNGE through the entire season. We are 0 - 2. It was disheartening to see the BOOSTERS and OTHER RATTLER FAITHFUL LEAVE BRAGG AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 4th Quarter.
