S. Robert Morgan, who plays the role of Butchie, a blind bar owner, and serves as Omar's banker and advisor came to an abrupt ending last night. Last night, Butchie was tortured and murdered by Chris and "Snoop" after being set up by "Cheese".
Butchie (played by Morgan) was one of the few people Omar, the stick-up artist, could trust. Morgan's character had been on the series since its inception.
The Wire website had this to say about Morgan's character: "Quick to arrange for cash or muscle as the need arises, Butchie also stands as the lone point of contact for reaching out to Omar. Though Butchie still moves some drugs through his store — including the lethal "hot shots" that Avon Barksdale served at Jessup — he manages to stay out of the sights and off the minds of Baltimore's major players."
Morgan majored in the theatre at FAMU.

Actually, Butchie was tortured and killed by Chris and Snoop because he refused to tell them where to find Omar. It had nothing to do with serving drinks.

Yeah you're right. This came from a tip, and I had to watch it tonight to get the story right. Now, I'm caught up and can even tell you what happens next week.

all I can say is that I hate marlo stanfield!...what they did to butchie was just plain wrong...and it warms my heart that he's a rattler like me!
