FAMU athletics announced yesterday that it has reached a broadcasting agreement with the, upstart, Black College Sports Network, a division of Jericho Broadcast Networks, Inc. The package calls for Jericho to broadcast FAMU sporting events in Tallahassee on 96.1 FM as well as over the Internet.
Additional -- over the air radio-- stations may carry FAMU sporting events throughout the state, FAMU said in a news release.
The length of the contract and financial terms weren't disclosed. JNB replaces Vantage Media Partners, which aired FAMU games for more than two decades with Keith Miles as anchor.
Bryan Fulford will be JBN's lead broadcaster and the new voice of the Rattlers, while Ron Mitchell will provide color and analysis.
Jericho's relationship with FAMU started two years ago with the webcasting of the Rattlers' football games. JBN claims as many as 700 Internet viewers watched those games live and another 1,500 connected afterward.
JBN says it anticipates even greater numbers by first-time viewers this season.
Not since Urban Broadcasting Company have i heard of anything more bogus! When will we learn?
ReplyDeleteHave you been to this new companies website http://www.jerichobroadcasting.com
ReplyDeleteI guess the Athletics Department's main goal for this season is the least possible quality in every endeavor. Let's recap:
1) Wack Poster,
2) Ridiculously Wack Website and now
3) A Wack broadcaster (my webcam has better quality).
Who in the hell(o) is running the FAMU Athletics Department?!?!?!? What kind of decisions are being made???? This "broadcasting" company has the visual quality of a webcam!!!!! There's not ONE SINGLE QUALITY sample on their entire website. WTF!!!!!!!
I guess to FAMU Athletics......Cheaper=Better
FAMU Athletic Marketing is laughable!
1:13pm.....
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that horrible "fence" idea. That would have been 4 for 4!!!!!! LMAO!!!!
That new AD we got sure is great....NOT!!!!!!
At what point do we hold ANYONE accountable in athletics???? Or do we keep saying its a FLUKE that all this negative stuff is happening with the department?
If we refuse to not promote from within and not look outside HBCU sports programs, can we at least attempt to get people that are going to take us to the next level instead of dropping us two and three levels down?
Just a question?
I am feeling you on this. If we choose to go outside, then do better than this. Speaking of outside, who is left in North Carolina? Seems like the "native son" done forgot about the "natives".
