The FAMU Football team has continued to benefit from several off-season transfers the latest of which is Padric Scott who will enroll in FAMU after spending last season at Stanford. Scott played his high school football Lincoln High School in Tallahassee and is the son of Edward Scott, DDS.

"It's been real good, being back home, being with the home crowd, home friends, old friends, people I've grown up with. Everybody is happy to be back with family and friends and that's what is important," said Patric Scott.

Scott is 6'1, 285 lbs. and plays defensive tackle.

FAMU also picked up former FAMU High football player Willie Ferrell who had signed a letter-of-intent this past winter to play for the University of Mississippi. Ferrell failed to qualify academically (Prop 48), and has since enrolled at the University and intends to play for the football team.

Ferrell will have to sit out one year before playing for the Rattlers because he had broken his contract with Ole Miss.

Originally, Ferrell had committed to Louisiana State, but when signing day came in February, Ferrell sided with the Rebels.

Ferrell was a first-team selection to the Tallahassee Democrat All-Big Bend team as a junior and senior. During his senior year he finished with 174 tackles.

  1. Tallahasse has a history of having some of the best football players in the state. Here's hoping that FAMU can sign some of this talent on the front end. I think these two young men will be outstanding players for the Rattlers and I'd like to welcome them with open arms.

Don't forget to purchase your season tickets.

  2. And when we recruit in south Florida we need to stop overlooking the top talent. It is a myth that they won't give us a look. In many cases they are family of Rattlers or have some ties. It isn't easy talking someone into a place that won't be aggressive about recruiting them. Most of them don't want to leave the state. I know of several right now that we're contacting the coach about tomorrow. before they get picked up. I know of two D-1 transfers that may end up at B-CU by default. And their talent and SKILL level is what we want in our huddle. Let's go Rattlers.

  4. And after he's acquitted of these fabricated charges, we will be welcoming Mr. Florida Football 2008, A.J. Graham, to FAMU with open arms too. Unfortunately, he had to learn very early that to "them" he's very dispensible and obviously guilty until proven innocent. Otherwise they wouldnt have rescinded his scholarship so fast and mercilessly.
