Regions Financial Corporation announced that FAMU will be part of its new HBCU Partnership. By selecting FAMU, Regions has expressed a special commitment to recruiting Rattler students for careers at the $122 billion company.
As part of its efforts to attract FAMU students to the corporation, Regions will work to create a financial
education curriculum for students, provide mentoring opportunities
on campus, engage alumni through homecoming and athletic
sponsorships, establish a financial education student chapter,
and build an executive lecture series in collaboration with FAMU's business
school.
"By preparing tomorrow's leaders to achieve personal and professional
success, Historically Black Colleges and Universities contribute greatly
to both the communities they call home and the students they serve,"
said John Owen, senior executive vice president and head of business
lines for Regions Financial. "We look forward to strengthening our
existing relationships with these outstanding institutions and
supporting their efforts to advance people of all backgrounds."
FAMU is one of six HBCUs selected for the program. The others are: Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Jackson State University, Spelman College, and Tennessee State University.
