FAMU Interim President Larry Robinson was all smiles as he personally handed a box of turkey, rolls, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, and other Thanksgiving sides to a Tallahassee family.

“We’re all in this together,” Robinson told The FAMUan. “We all have a role – a very positive role – to play in the community.  This is another indication of the strong bond and the commonality that we have in serving citizens of this community in our own special ways.”

Ray Bellamy, a member of FAMU’s academic advising staff, coordinated a Thanksgiving meal giveaway to benefit low-income families in Leon County. Leon County Sheriff Larry Campbell, Tallahassee Police Chief Dennis Jones and Tallahassee Community College President Jim Murdaugh all participated.

The group of students, academic staffers, and law enforcement officials worked together to load the donated food into boxes. They then delivered the meals to more than 40 families that wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford such a Thanksgiving dinner.
