“This accomplishment is just phenomenal,” said Franzetta
Fitz, FAMU director of Instructional Technology. “To receive such an honor
within the two years that our online program has been in existence is quite
admirable.”
Affordable Colleges Online helps students find affordable
college options and provides information about financial aid and college
rankings.
Distance learning from today’s best colleges and
universities helps students receive a top-notch education while they take care
of family and work responsibilities.
The distance learning programs offered at FAMU consist of
the master’s of business administration (MBA), master’s of public health (MPH)
and master’s of nursing (MSN).
Gussie Fuller, a member of the first FAMU online degree
program graduating class, says the experience with the public health program
was encouraging and productive.
“The full support of the administration and faculty made the
adjustment into virtual classrooms seamless,” Fuller said.
The online MBA program affords students the opportunity to
network with representatives from Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, the
program includes an international residency that affords students a global
experience of assuming leadership roles in the profession of business
administration.
The online MPH program is an extension of FAMU's premier
College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This program is unique to
current health professionals or related areas in preparation for leadership and
management positions in the public health workforce.
The online MSN program prepares nurses to become adult
gerontological primary care nurse practitioners (AGPCNP) or women's health
nurse practitioners (WHNP). The MSN program was created with the national
certification exam in mind and has a consistently high rate of certification.
Each program requires prospective students to have
post-baccalaureate degree work experience, a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade
point average or GRE score of 1000 (300 on the new GRE) or 600 on the GMAT (for
the MBA program.)
