The FAMU volleyball team celebrated Senior Day by honoring Erika DeVaughn, Diana Gonzales and Katherine Huanec at the Al Lawson Center on Sunday. It capped the festivities with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-18) win over arch-rival Bethune-Cookman. With the victory, the FAMU netters finished their regular season with a 10-0 record in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

FAMU (14-6, 10-0 MEAC) was led by DeVaughn as she recorded a match-high 14 kills while Huanec added 10.  Gonzales recorded 41 assists in the match, while Joan Del Castillo tallied 27 digs.

After the Department of Athletics presented them with plagues during the postgame Senior Day ceremony, DeVaughn, Gonzales, and Huanec then received a special gift from the Department of Music. Marching 100 Director Sylvester Young and a pep band paid tribute to them by playing the FAMU alma mater. The song brought tears to the eyes of the honorees.
