FAMU softball to open NCAA tournament at FSU

Senior captain Jessica Nathan will lead the FAMU softball team into the NCAA Regionals

The FAMU Lady Rattler Softball team will play its opening game in the 2016 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Softball national tournament on Friday, May 20 against crosstown Florida State. The NCAA Regional matchup will take place at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time at JoAnne Graff Field.

FAMU (27-28), winners of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference crown, will face the No. 8 nationally-seeded Seminoles (48-8) in a contest slated to be aired on ESPN3.com

Friday's game will be the third meeting between the Tallahassee schools this season. FSU won the first game 10-1 on February 24 and the second game 12-3 on May 5.
