FAMU appoints academic support director in new OASIS program for student success

Jamie Davis, Ph.D., has been named the new director of Academic Support Services in the newly formed Office of Academic Support and Institutional Services (OASIS). He is a graduate of Florida State University and the University of Florida, where he earned his doctoral degree and undergraduate degree, respectively.

Before accepting this position, Davis served as assistant director of Student Support Services in the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences, as a coordinator of the Access Summer Bridge (ASB) program, and as an academic advisor in the Undergraduate Student Success Center.

Davis’ primary role in OASIS will be creating and implementing an Academic Coaching Unit, supervising the mathematics, science, and Gaither tutorial labs, and monitoring cohort matriculation.
