“I am honored to have the endorsement of Leader Pelosi, who works tirelessly to build a stronger nation for every American,” Lawson said. “I respect her tenacity, leadership and guidance, and I am beyond grateful for her support.”
The Pelosi endorsement came following a campaign meet-and-greet at Lawson’s Dunn Avenue campaign headquarters. There, the Democratic Leader took questions from volunteers, supporters and other elected officials.
“Al has proven to be an effective voice for North Florida during his first term in Congress,” Pelosi said. “This is an important election, and we need representatives in Washington who are committed to bettering the lives for all Americans. Rep. Lawson has showcased his dedication to service, and he is undoubtedly the right person for this job. ”
For 30 years, Pelosi has represented California’s 12th District in Congress. From 2007 to 2011, she served as Speaker of the House, the first woman to do so in American history. She has led House Democrats for more than 12 years and previously served as House Democratic Whip.
