Monica Goldson, Ed.D., and 1991 FAMU graduate, has been named CEO of Prince George's County Public Schools. Since July 2018, Goldson has been serving as the School District's interim CEO. Goldson herself attended Prince George's County Schools and began her career at Suitland High School as a math teacher.
She would later become a principal, then the chief operating officer, and the deputy superintendent of teaching and learning. Prince George's County Schools is among the nation's largest school districts with nearly 150,000 students enrolled and 10,000 teachers. She will manage a budget of nearly $2 billion dollars.
