Less than 60 days old, the FAMU Towers (North) building flooded recently forcing students living in the new residence hall to have to relocate.

The new $56 million 700 bed dorms, which was completed in August, was developed by theConstruct Two Group, the same developer that built the new FAMU DRS.  In the first few months of operation, DRS faced a similar situation.

According to the contractor, a pipe burst on the second floor of the Towers sending water spewing through the hallway and down to the first floor.  The contractor said the damage will take three to four weeks to repair.  This ensure that everything is completely dried out and the damaged materials are replaced so as not cause future problems.
