Two former FAMU Rattler football players had their NFL dreams come true Saturday as both Savion Williams and Markquese Bell as undrafted free agents with the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys respectively.
Bell had his dream come true first shortly after the draft was completed and he and the Cowboys agreed to terms. While at FAMU Bell earned First Team All-MEAC honors in 2019 and First Team All-SWAC honors in 2021. Because of the pandemic, FAMU did not field a football team in 2020.
Williams’ announced an agreement to join the Jets, shortly after Bell. Savion Williams joined the Rattlers this season after transferring from Tennessee and made an immediate impact after recording a sack versus South Carolina State in his first game as a Rattler. Williams finished the season with 6.5 sacks, earned All-SWAC honors, and competed in the HBCU Legacy Bowl.

"I am excited for both these young men and can't wait to see what they do at the next level," said Head Coach Willie Simmons. "Marquess and Savion are extremely hard workers, and I know they will succeed at the next level."
