FAMU rose 1 spot to No. 103 among national public
universities in the latest ranking from U.S. News & World Report, released
today, and earned badges for ranking
68th among the Most Innovative Schools – National Universities and 66th for
Undergraduate Teaching – National Universities.
Among HBCUs, FAMU ranks No. 7 and is the top ranked public HBCU for the fourth consecutive year in a row.
President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., said “FAMU continues to
carve a path forward in educating and training our graduates to have an impact
in the communities where they live, work and serve. These rankings are no
reason for complacency. They will encourage and inspire us to even greater
achievements. We have more work to do.”
The U.S. News ranking, one of the most widely referenced
measurements of undergraduate programs, is based on 20 factors. Contributing to
FAMU’s overall ranking were its academic reputation and its high selectivity.
