Rattler football fans trying to enter FAMU home football opener against the UWF, Saturday, were met with long lines and delays getting into the game.  The delay caused many to miss the start of the game.   "The lines were longer than the ones at a Beyonce concert.  The AD gets an F today.  Truly sad," one fan wrote on social media.

"Over 30 minutes to get in the gate for the North End Zone, only two people scanning," wrote another.

The extremely long lines weren't just limited to the West Side or North End Zone gate, they were all the way around the stadium affecting students and visitors on the East Side as well.

The lines were so long several university administrators, and local radio personality Joe Bullard were observed working the gates trying to help fans get into the game. Noticeably missing, however, was Athletic Director Tiffani Dawn Sykes.

'Lines longer than a Beyonce' concert'
One fan wrote, "I'm not driving four hours to attend a FAMU football game (this season) to stand in lines this long.  This is a mess.  They need to get it together."

By yesterday, the FAMU Office of Communications (not the athletic department) issued an apology, saying "we apologize to the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other supporters for the long lines at Bragg Stadium for the home opener against the University of West Florida. It was unacceptable and marred what should have been a joyous occasion. We are aware of the concerns are working to improve our operation," the letter continued.

Still nothing, official or unofficial, from the athletic department.
