FAMU claims SWAC women's cross country championship

The FAMU women's cross-country team won its first SWAC championship title on Monday, since joining the conference in 2021.
 
The Rattlers had the lowest score with 63 pts.  They were followed by Alabama State with 72 points, and Ala. A&M 99 points.  
 
The Rattlers had three team members place among the top 10 finishers lead by  
Serenity Williams who placed sixth, Niya Coleman who placed 9th and Sierra Barrera  who finished 10th.  

FAMU Coach Garfield Ellenwood II, who is in his first year at the helm, was named women’s coach of the year.
