FAMU has reported a steady increase in the number of undergraduate students pursing majors in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or health-related fields over the past five years, reflecting a growing interest in these disciplines.
Data released for the academic year 2022-2023 in its forthcoming 2024 Accountability Plan reveals that nearly half the university's students are enrolled in STEM or health-related programs, with 47 percent of bachelor's degrees awarded in these fields, up from 41 percent five years ago. Similarly, 49 percent of graduate degrees conferred by FAMU during the same period were in STEM or health-related disciplines, representing a modest increase from previous years.
