This prediction was made during the SWAC football media day, where conference coaches and sports information directors cast their votes. The Rattlers received a total of 104 points, trailing only Alabama State, which secured 114 points in the voting.
The Rattlers also had seven of players have been named to the preseason All-SWAC teams. This impressive showing underscores the team's strength and depth heading into the new season.
Leading the charge on the All-SWAC First Team are defensive back Kendall Bohler and kicker Cameron Gillis, both of whom were first-team selections in 2023. Bohler's exceptional skills in the defensive backfield and Gillis's reliability as a kicker make them key players for the Rattlers.
