After an undefeated run through the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) with a flawless record of 19-0, the FAMU Rattlers Volleyball Team has secured the SWAC's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The Rattlers will now prepare for a first-round showdown against the No. 1-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday, December 6 at 8 p.m. EST.
This marks the second meeting between the two teams, with their first encounter dating back to 2004. In that memorable match, the Rattlers pulled off a stunning upset, defeating the then No. 2-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers 3-1. The victory was a significant moment in FAMU's volleyball history, and the team will be looking to recreate that magic on the national stage once again.
The Rattlers have been a consistent presence in the NCAA Tournament, having most recently appeared in 2022 and 2021. Their undefeated conference record this season is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the leadership of their coaching staff.
