The University of Florida has fully updated its Board of Trustees webpage to include the new appointee who was selected by the Florida Board of Governors (BOG) on January 21. But the Florida A&M University Trustee Directory at the time of this posting still doesn’t include the two new trustees who the BOG appointed on the same day.

Marsha Powers, who the BOG appointed to the UF Board of Trustees at its meeting earlier this month, is now listed on the UF BOT webpage. The BOG also appointed Thomas Dortch Jr. and Craig Reed to the FAMU BOT at the same meeting, but their names and biographies are still missing from the online FAMU Trustee Directory.

When the Florida governor or BOG appoints a new university trustee, that individual begins serving immediately while awaiting confirmation from the Florida Senate.

The administration of President Elmira Mangum did finally get around to removing former Trustee Karl White from the BOT page after a Rattler Nation story about the slow updates, yesterday.

FAMU isn’t the only member of the State University System of Florida that hasn’t been keeping its BOT page up-to-date. Florida State University still hasn’t added Craig Mateer, who was appointed by the BOG on January 21, to its “Meet the Trustees” site.
