Belvin Perry, Jr. appointed to FAMU Board of Trustees

Today, Gov. Rick Scott announced the appointment of Belvin Perry Jr. to the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University Board of Trustees.

Perry, 66, of Orlando, is an attorney with Morgan and Morgan PA. He currently serves as a member of the Florida A&M University College of Law Board of Visitors and the 100 Black Men of Orlando Inc.

The new trustee previously served as the chief judge in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit. He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tuskegee University and law degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.

Perry succeeds Belinda Shannon for a term beginning March 24, 2016, and ending January 6, 2021.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
