Perhaps you've heard by now that the FAMU Trustees approved a $50,000 salary increase for Interim President Bryant at Thrusday's meeting. The increase, which was retroactive to December, brings Bryant's salary up to $300,000 a year.
At its last two meetings, the Board has approved $85,000 in bonuses and raises for Mrs. Bryant.
Meanwhile, the FAMU faculty hasn't received a raise, from the University in over three years. Nevermind that State Auditors cited the University for under paying its faculty by $19 million. Hmmmm....
Also, the Rev. R.B. Holmes, Chair of the Presidential (non)Search Committee, shared that he'll present a timetable for the presidential search at the August board meeting.
R.B. Holmes a.k.a The Stallmaster!! I'm wondering what his cut of the $85,000 in "bonuses" amounted to? I'm shaking my head...
ReplyDeleteMY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!
ReplyDeleteFrom a campus perspective, morale among FAMU staff and faculty ranks is slumping toward an all-time low.
ReplyDeleteEven during the toughest days of the Smith and Humphries administrations, I can't remember seeing so many dejected personnel. There's a widespread feeling that campus employees are not valued or seen as part of the team.
That's a damn shame!! Bryant ought to give back the money -
