The Spring Commencement will be Sunday, April 30 in the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center. And for the first time FAMU will hold two graduations one at 9 a.m. and another at 2 p.m. The morning session will be for graduates of:

School of Journalism and Graphic Communication
Environmental Sciences Institute
The afternoon session will be for graduates of:
College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
FAMU/FSU College of Engineering
College of Law
College of Engineering Sciences, Technology and Agriculture (CESTA)
School of Business and Industry (SBI)
School of Allied Health Sciences
School of Nursing
The speaker for the morning session will be Dr. Norman Francis, President, Xavier University, New Orleans, LA. The speaker for the afternoon session will be Dr. Marvalene Hughes, President, Dillard University, New Orleans, La.
Dr. Francis is considered the Dean of American college presidents, having served as president of XULA since 1968.
