Strikers Struck!

Enrollment is down. SGA forced to cut budgets of student organizations. The FAMU Strikers, which appeared on BET's 106 and Park this year, are facing going from a budget of $12,000 last year to zero this year. The Marching 100 is slated to lose $15,000 in SGA funding, and will likely see their budget go from $130,000 to $115,000. Nevermind, that the 100 was requesting $175,000 for band operations this year.

Because enrollment is expected to decrease again, and money is needed to operate the new recreation center, seven organizations will be forced to rely on fundraising efforts. These organization include the S.A.F.E. team, Caribbean Student Association, Lyceum, Alpha Kappa Mu, Flute Choir, FAMU Strikers and Young and Striving.

The FAMU Flute Choir, the number two flute choir in the nation and the only one at an HBCU is faced with having their budget zeroed out.
