We understand that Board Chair Challis Lowe began calling around last night to members of the FAMU Trustees... From what we were told, the conversation went like this: "FAMU is in a crisis state and needs permanent leadership. Would you support a motion to make Castell Bryant permanent president?"
While we are sure that all involved in these conversations will deny they ever took place, but we can assure you that we have it on good account that these kinds of conversations likely took place.
Hell NO! Absolutely NOT! Challis LOWE is a damn fool for even considering this and she needs a dose of common sense if this account is true.
ReplyDeleteIf this account is true then FAMU's destiny is doomed. Not unlike Morris Brown.
Hell no is right, but what are WE AS RATTLERS going to do to be proactive to make sure she don't pull this slam dunk move at the next Board Meeting or in one of their "Emergency Meetings"???? Huh? Huh?
ReplyDeleteperhaps the state of Florida will be nice and remain the new conglomerate of FSU and FAMU, with new colors and a different mascot. Something like The Florida Union University, mascot: Cranes.
ReplyDeleteI just put this in a chat room last night for confirmation? Damn, this board is fast.

ReplyDeleteTALLAHASSEE, FLA.
The man filling in as interim president of Florida A&M University says he wants the job for good, despite having signed on to do it only until a permanent replacement could be found.
Dr. Henry Lewis III began serving his term Jan. 1. He was hired in December with the stipulation that he could not be hired for the permanent position.
"Thirty-one days have indicated to me I can do this job, and yes, I want to do this job," Lewis says.
Lewis also says he wants to make it clear that he's not asking the trustees to revoke their position. He's just stating his interest. But many of the trustees said his announcement does not help the search under way for a new university president.
"It is inappropriate, unprofessional and just short of inciting chaos," says trustee Castell Bryant. "It creates a cloud that places the integrity of the board on the line. I'm disappointed, yet not surprised."
At least five of the 13 trustees also have said they want the board to stick to its decision, arguing that the board's credibility is at stake.

ReplyDeleteTo hell, with that BI article, this is about to go down! What are we going to combat the b.s. Challis and 'nim are up to?
ReplyDeleteAfter the deal is done is too late to start crying like a hit dog!
HELL to the NAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteDAMN, DAMN, DAMN! You about to get me fired for hollerin up in here....
I hope she did not have that conversation. If she did, she is in violation of the Sunshine Act which does not allow members of state boards to discuss business outside of public meetings.
ReplyDeleteWe've reached a new low? I thought we were telling to truth and stayin in church or is it shamin' the devil? Call a spade a spade. If you think the things that are said about people on here are low then maybe "we" need to think about some of the low things that have been happening at the school like it's systemactic destruction.
ReplyDeleteRN: I don't believe Challis Lowe is that stupid. You put your credibility on the line, if you believe this source.

Then explain Lowe's recent comments and the Outlook/Rosy's opinion piece this week finally conceding that a permanent will not be named until 2008.
By 2008, Castell will be in office a full US presidential term. If that is not permanent then what is?
Whether this/these sources are credible or not, this blog has been on the money exposing the lies and deceptions of this administration and board.
My money is on RN.

Will any of you be there to help RN out with any of their potential legal expenses if they keep up with this kind of guerilla journalism and it gets them in trouble?

We are not beyond a public apology, but suing me will only yeild a 1999 VW Golf.

RN: An apology may not be enough. They may take your 1999 VW Golf, shut you down, and send you to jail. Be careful about the sources you rely on.
I read your comments on another board.
ReplyDeleteRemeber there are thousands of internet blogspot topics from the war in Iraq to the Bush in the White house. FAMU has received bad opinion pieces/articles from every newspaper in the state.
As long as rattlernation is not scalping tickets and collecting alumni dues what's it to you?
Why don't you post your cease and desist?
Please explain to me where RN has broken any laws or left themselves subject to civil suits. If they had, I'm sure the mafia that calls themselves the administration and BOT would have come after them by now. But, I've noticed they haven't once denied any of the allegations that have been made against them, even before RN was created. At no point did I ever read that anything posted here claimed tp be an official statement.
ReplyDeleteAre you Castell's mole or know something the rest of us don't?
BTW, RN, if it does ever come to that, I got my donation to your legal fees! Please keep up the good work, as it is only through outlets such as this that some of us are able to keep hope alive regarding our university.
Right on Rattler Nation
