Alcorn State athletic director Robert Raines has turned in his letter of resignation and his final day on campus is Thursday.
Raines, who has worked at Alcorn State since January 1998 and has been the athletic director for just over two years, said he has taken a senior associate athletic director position at Florida A&M in Tallahassee, Fla. Alcorn AD takes FAMU Job He is scheduled to start work Monday.
Snakes on a Page?
The Cincinnati Enquirer doing a sports spoof of the new movie 'Snakes on a Plane' gave an obvious nod to the Florida A&M Rattlers. The paper wrote, FAMU has one of the truly menacing logos in sports, featuring two seriously long fangs and one very forked tongue.

"Snakes in Lee Hall and Foote-Hilyer." Starring Castell V. Bryant, Debra Austin, and Vincent June. No spoof there. Just real folks being real snakes. Not even in the grass, but right there in the corridors of academia.
