Cyrah Hawkins, who was elected Mr. Florida A&M University last spring has been temporarily sidelined while his GPA is verified. School officials are determining whether he meets the proper grade point average requirement.
The SGA court issued Hawkins a temporary restraining order Monday. The order is in effect until the Student Government Association can obtain a copy of his academic standing from Nathaniel Holmes, the royal court adviser.
If they find he does not meet the requirement, he could face permanent removal from the royal court.
SGA ran an eligibility check on the royal court in August, and Hawkins did not meet the GPA requirement.
See: Mr. FAMU
damn! can anybody at FAMU maintain a decent GPA?
ReplyDeleteWhen is the last time FAMU's Court had a male for an advisor? Probably never! Before V.P. June came on board.
ReplyDeletehmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Wasn't this guy a "STRIKER" before he became Mr. FAMU?
1) Maybe that advisor is one of VP June's sorors?
ReplyDelete2) Cyrah IS, indeed, a STRIKER!
If this is a way of sending a message to FAMU students, saying that they MUST maintain high academic standards in order to stay here, I'm all for it.
ReplyDeleteWhile they're at it, might as well check the other 100 or so organizations and clubs on campus. No need in singling out a few organizations and positions.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have a 2.0 GPA, CLASS and study sessions are the only things you should be involved in.

Hey Anonymous.......... GUESS WHAT?!
You're righttttttttttttttttttt
But seriously though! If I was the mother of Miss FAMU and any of the other attendants, would I want to have a man following them around all over the state and country? And please tell me WHO is going to coordinate the Coronation, the Queen's Luncheon, etc. for homecoming? And is this guy (advisor) selecting the ladies' suits for university representation?
Maybe this advisor and V.P. will be good at coordinating the activities for Miss FAMU and her court, but COME ON FAMU!!!!!!
My guess is that the ladies are SAFE around this guy!

ReplyDeleteAND THE GUYS???????
After seeing the guys this past weekend, they are already down with the program!
ReplyDeleteWhat program?
ReplyDeleteWhat program?
ReplyDeleteYou've got to be kidding!!!! What program do you think? :-)
If you cant maintian a decent GPA at FAMU you are a freaking lazy azz bastid that has no bizness in being in skool and you should be striped of ALL college perqs. Mr. FAMU my azz.. lol. Go get a job. Want fries with that mister?
ReplyDeleteMr. FAMU is a volunteered position. This man does not get paid and to restrain someone of volunteering their services is STUPID! I think this guy spent like $5,000+ on his campaign! Let's be real EVERYONE who runs for these major positions GPA drops because of campaign week. I know for a fact he has like a 2.75, which is a decent GPA and the by-laws of the Royal Court says you need a 2.8 or better at the TIME OF DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY. Maintain is nowhere to be found. If he didn't have the GPA during elections the EC wouldn't have let him run. I know senators who don't have a 2.5.... I think Cyrah is a wonderful Mr. FAMU who has great platform items that he is actually doing (that is rare), and still doing even though he's restrained of his title right now. FAMU is at a disadvantage without Cyrah. I am an alumn of FAMU who still pays attention to things, yall gone make me come back and straighten yall out!
ReplyDeleteMr FAMU does receive free University Housing and that does count for something. The question is what does Mr. and Ms. FAMU really provide to University Housing
ReplyDeleteI am an alumn of FAMU who still pays attention to things, yall gone make me come back and straighten yall out!
ReplyDeleteIf you gonna do some straighten, then you need to join ranks with others and straighten crazy Castell.
$5,000 on the campaign?? Seems to me that brotherman oughts to have been securing the services of a tutor instead. Was that financial aid money? Or is he rolling like that? Just asking? I tell ya, these young folks seem to have some strange priorities these days. And, yes, I'm an old-school FAMUan.
ReplyDeleteeh, sponsorship?
ReplyDeletehe is not riding like that...he drives a beat up saturn.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what he's doing now...
