September 11th will forever be etched in the minds of Americans. But nearly 30 years ago yesterday, on September 11, 1977, the Florida A&M Marching 100 played both pre-game and halftimes for the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins at the NJ Medowlands Stadiudm. The 100rd then took to the streets of NYC playing the African-American Day Parade, marking the first time the 100 had ever gone to New York. The 100rd took Manhattan by storm (and Sunshine) - people had never seen and heard a band like the 100 ever.
(very special thanks to an ol' school Rattler, ES, for that story)
