The Florida A&M Women's Volleyball Team swept through the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Midyear Roundup this past weekend at South Carolina State, posting a perfect 6-0 mark.
The six wins extended FAMU's regular season conference match winning streak to 89 since 1998, and put them on track to clinch the top seeding in next month's conference tournament with two more wins in the remaining league schedule.
The Lady Rattlers improved to 13-6 overall and 8-0 in league play.
glad to see somebody around here winning this fall.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the Volleyball team. Its so great our Volleyball team is so dominant, yet so sad they lack the fan support at their games.
ReplyDeleteI played volleyball for FAMU from 97-2000. The team sure has changed. Hmmm, maybe its due to the fact that there are only a few african americans on the team? a lot of the traditions that were once part of the team were lost, ie chants, songs, the people on the team being african american, when the coach did a way with all those things. Im glad to see that the team is doing well, but I also see why there is no fan support. Im sure students want to see more women playing collegiate level volleyball that look more like them.
ReplyDeleteIm not racist or trying to hate on the team, I just know that back in 97...oh, we had the gym CRUNK!!! and FULL!
