State Senator Al Lawson muscled his way into the FAMU Homecoming parade Saturday. The 6'7" tall, 280 lbs, Senator who had been told by FAMU officials he couldn't participate in the parade (see: Castell doesn't want senator in parade) showed up with his walking shoes on, supporters in tow, and bags of candy for the kids and pressed his way into the homecoming parade. The Senator and his friends walked the entire 2.5 mile parade route, without incident, and were very well received by parade goers who shouted their approval.

  3. Someone of Al's prestige shaould not have to fill out paperwork. What a "D" shame that FAMU deals in such trivia bs?

  4. For the life of me, I cannot understand why FAMU requires so much paperwork and we still are on the bottom when it comes to documentation of anything, particularly when it pertains to an audit.

  5. Maybe next time we shouldn't have a WITCH for a President!!!!

Or perhaps, next time FAMU wants Lawson to carry the ball on something, he'll ask us to fill out the damn paperwork! How about that?

  6. If you think Big Al defied Castell, then you should have heard Andrew Gillum at the Young Alumni Giving Luncheon. Gillum stated that young alums need to be vocal in denouncing the administration's irresponsible decisions. He said that we need to be raising our voices publicly and writing letters to the editor.

Castell has hated Gillum's gutts ever since he was on the BOT. He's right up there on her most-hated list along with Big Al and Fred Humphries.

God show me the way, because Castell trying to break me down.

The only I pray is that my feet don't fail me now.

  8. Sure wish I knew Big Al was going to walk! I would have gotten some of our friends/faithful alumni/ card carrying "what's in your wallet"/friends to walk with him also. Guess I didn't get the memo.

And who is this silly butt who keeps saying, Next time... just fill out the paperwork! GIVE US ALL A BREAK AND SHUT UP!

How can you keep a state senator and serious alumni and Mr. FAMU (if there ever was one) out of a darn parade because of a can't read it/crooked writing/xeroxed too many times/misspelled words/faded out/ trashy piece of paper.

To Mr./Ms. "Next time... Just fill out the paperwork!"... how do you know that he did not complete the form and it just oops! (disappeared)? You guys are too much! And when did the President get into monitoring who will be in the parade? How silly!!!!!!!!

    GO BIG AL!

  9. Why does this Administration focus on such trivia? Enrollment is down, financial aid has not changed, budget issues still remain, morale is down and lawsuits continue to grow.

  10. And, we rest our case!!! The Verdict is in: Castell has been impeached and sentenced to permanent removal from FAMU. She left screaming and saying "Liz made me do it", and Altha agreed.

  11. For all the good he's done ... What still makes him so important that he's above filling outta simple MF form?

I think Jeb has more prestige than Al in the State of Florida ... If he wanted to ride in the parade without filling out the Form, would you have allowed him?

What would have stopped ANY politician - Republican OR Democrat - from wanting in on the Parade ... ESPECIALLY if it came to light that HE got in - WITHOUT filling out the necessary paperwork?

He could have set the School up for a precedent that they don't want - or NEED - to be a part of ... But YOU all would rather he skirt around some "trivial" request for a form - if JUST to cover OUR @sses from potential embarrassment?

AL ain't got THAT much prestige that someone in his office couldn't fill out the Form ... Point Blank!!

  12. Didn't Castell pull this same stunt with County Commission Chair Bill Proctor and City Commissioner Andrew Gillium and year or so ago? Tell them they couldn't be in the homecoming parade?
