Florida A&M University's new president said Thursday that the school's persistent financial and accounting problems must be tackled "head on" and that he will insist on clean audits.
"Our stakeholders expect greater accountability," said James Ammons, a former FAMU provost and current chancellor of North Carolina Central University. "I am confident we can fix the problems … and turn to our core business of educating students."

ReplyDeleteSorry if this seems off-topic, but I don't know how to originate a thread here.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know what's going on with FAMU email?
Thursday Mar. 29,2007 students and faculty could not send email attachments from campus, unless they used famu.edu accounts.
Students using Yahoo, Gmail, and Hotmail could not submit lab assignments as email attachments.
That probably means that visitors to campus, guest lecturers, accreditation teams, etc., could not use their email addresses while on our campus.
The IT office referred calls to the FAMU email office. The FAMU email office was not answering its phones.
Anybody know what's going on?
Yep, FAMU is trying to monitor out going campus e-mail to make sure nobody is sending Rattler Nation stuff from FAMU computers. Castell is playing BIG brother.
ReplyDeleteLol please EIT not that sophisticated. Work around to that is simply us yahoo or hotmail.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Barbara Jones, we hear you are back outside CVB's door.

ReplyDeleteLook for more departures in the days coming, i.e., Special Assistants to the President.
One Special Special Assistant has already indicated that she up for sale; however, she can't too well.
LMBAO!
Excuse me where is all the excellence with caring. When all I have heard and seen is the Big Boys/Girls doing distructive things to FAMU. Things that will get FAMU closed down. Question to Ammons how can you fix the problem? Do we or don't we have any money? If we do have money then where is it? If we Don't have any money and to double the fact that we are big millions in the hole, who is going to bail us out and give us new funds so that business can continue at FAMU with new and more better accountability policies and proceedures.
