Rattlers sink Pirates to get 19th win and advance to semifinials

The Florida A&M Men's Basketball Team advanced to the semifinals of the 2007 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament with a 61-58 win over Hampton University late Wednesday evening.

Florida A&M (19-13), will be making its' first semifinal appearance in the MEAC Tournament since winning the event in 2004. The Rattlers avenged a regular season sweep by the Pirates with Wednesday's triumph.

Junior Jon Mason led the Rattlers off the bench with 12 points, while senior center Rome Sanders finished with 10 points. Brian Greene scored 11 points for the Rattlers and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

FAMU will face the winner of today's quarterfinal game between North Carolina A&T and Norfolk State.
